    Fixes come in order, each with why it matters and what to change. The free plan explains the first 5 in full.

    Make the fix

    Most fixes are made by you or whoever looks after your website. On a paid plan, MayhemSEO can change search titles and descriptions for you once you approve them.

Who makes the changes

Two ways a fix gets done.

A scan only reads your website. Each fix is then made in one of two ways.

These are the words shown for your pages in Google’s results. On a paid plan, MayhemSEO can change them for you on:

  • WordPress posts and pages, with Yoast SEO, Rank Math, SEOPress or The SEO Framework
  • Shopify products and collections
  • Webflow CMS collection items
  • GitHub, once a developer sets it up
  1. An Owner or Admin connects your website.
  2. You see the current wording beside the new wording, and can edit it. Write it for me can draft it from your page's own words.
  3. You approve. That publishes exactly the wording you saw, on the pages listed, and nothing else.
  4. MayhemSEO publishes it, then reads the live page to confirm it. You can undo it.

Without a paid plan or a connection, you or your website person change them in your website instead.

Everything else, with clear steps

Broken links between your pages, pages that do not load, missing headings, image descriptions, redirects, and pages hidden from search need someone who can edit your website. MayhemSEO gives them:

  • Why it matters, and what to change
  • Whether you can do it yourself or need a developer
  • Each available fix shows the pages and checks behind it
  • How to check the repair afterwards
  • A downloadable action plan or spreadsheet (CSV) to share

When the work is done, scan again to confirm the problem is gone.

The problem
The Wedding cakes page on riverside-bakery.example has no search description.
Why it matters
The description is the short text under your link in Google. Without one, Google picks its own text from the page, which may not say what you offer.
The suggested fix
Add a description such as: “Custom wedding cakes baked to order in Riverside. Choose your flavours and book a tasting.”
Who makes it
On a paid plan with WordPress connected, you approve the new wording and MayhemSEO publishes it. Otherwise, you or your website person add it in your SEO plugin.
What MayhemSEO checks
It reads the live page to confirm the new description is there, and your next scan no longer lists the problem.
What it cannot tell you
A confirmed fix shows the problem is solved. It does not prove more people will click. With Search Console connected, you can follow your clicks over time.

After the first scan

Websites change. Keep up with yours.

Pages get added, links break, and settings change with updates. Scans run when you start them or on the schedule you set. MayhemSEO does not email you when a scan finishes, so open your dashboard to see what changed.

  • Scan again whenever you like, or set a schedule within your plan's monthly scans.
  • Compare scans to see new problems and the ones you have fixed.
  • Move on to the next useful fix as you finish each one.
  • With Search Console connected, import your latest search figures when you want them.
