1. Who we are and how to contact us
MayhemSEO is operated by Austin Peterson, based in Saskatchewan, Canada. This policy covers mayhemseo.com and the MayhemSEO application. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean that operator.
Contact address: 319 Glen Cairn Terrace, Kingston, Ontario K7M 4A6, Canada. For privacy questions, access requests, corrections, or deletion requests, contact mayhemseo@gmail.com. Please do not send passwords, access tokens, or payment-card details. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity and authority over the requested data.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information generated while you use the service, and information from services you choose to connect.
- Account and workspace information: your name, email address, authentication records, workspace memberships and roles, projects, websites, preferences, and support messages.
- Website information: URLs, fetched page content, links, metadata, structured data, crawl results, screenshots or rendered evidence where supported, audit findings, and recommendations. Connected publishing services can also provide the content and configuration needed for a change you review and approve.
- Connection information: provider and property identifiers, granted permissions, encrypted access or refresh credentials, connection status, and synchronization history. Google authenticates your Google account; we do not receive your Google password.
- Usage and security information: IP addresses, browser or device information, session timestamps, request and error records, and records of actions taken in the service.
- Billing information: subscription, customer and transaction identifiers, plan, invoice and payment status, and billing history. Stripe handles payment entry; MayhemSEO does not receive your full payment-card number through its checkout integration.
3. Google data and permissions
Google connections are optional. We request read-only access when you choose to connect a supported Google service. You select the property used for your website, and we use the connection to retrieve reports for that property.
Search Console uses the webmasters.readonly permission. We access your accessible Search Console properties and search-performance data such as search terms, pages, clicks, impressions, click-through rate, average position, dates, countries, devices, and search appearance. URL Inspection uses the same connection to read index status and related evidence, such as canonical URLs and crawl or indexing information.
When Google Analytics 4 is enabled and you connect it, we request analytics.readonly. The Analytics Admin API lists accounts and properties you can access so you can select a property. The Analytics Data API supplies reporting metrics and dimensions, such as traffic sources, landing pages, sessions, engagement, key events, and revenue where available. Read-only access does not allow MayhemSEO to change your Analytics configuration.
We use these records to show your website's search and visitor performance, compare time periods, explain data limitations, identify SEO opportunities, and assess observed results of website changes. We store imported reports and derived findings in your workspace so that you can review historical evidence.
PageSpeed Insights and the Chrome UX Report provide page-performance and experience information about the URLs or origins being checked. These requests use our API configuration and do not require access to your Google account.
4. How we use information
We use information to provide requested website checks, reports and connections; operate and secure accounts; manage subscriptions; respond to support requests; diagnose errors; and maintain the service. Workspace information is made available to people who have the corresponding permissions in that workspace. Only connect websites, accounts, and data that you are authorized to use.
5. Limits on our use of Google data
MayhemSEO's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. These limits also apply to information aggregated, anonymized, or derived from Google data.
We use Google data to provide or improve the user-facing features described in this policy. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or retargeting, transfer it to data brokers, use it to determine creditworthiness, or use it to train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
We transfer Google data only as needed to provide or improve the features you use with your consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a business transfer after obtaining your explicit prior consent. People may access Google data only with your affirmative permission for specific data, for necessary security or legal purposes, or for permitted internal operations using aggregated data.
6. Service providers and other disclosures
We use service providers to operate MayhemSEO. Their access is limited to the functions they perform. The Google-data limits above continue to apply when a provider processes Google data for us.
Our infrastructure providers include DigitalOcean for hosting, Neon for PostgreSQL database services, Upstash for Redis services, Cloudflare for domain, network and email-routing services, and Resend for transactional email. Stripe provides billing and payment services when paid subscriptions are enabled. Google supplies the connected Search Console, Analytics and performance services described above. Google also provides the website analytics described in the next section for mayhemseo.com itself; it receives that information only if you agree to it.
These providers do not all receive the same information. For example, email delivery requires message and recipient information, while payment processing requires billing information. Connecting a separate website platform gives that platform the requests and content required to perform the actions you authorize.
We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the service and its users. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. We do not promise that all information stays in a particular country.
7. Storage, security, and cookies
We use encrypted connections, access controls, encrypted provider credentials, and workspace permission checks to protect information. Access is limited to the people and systems that need it for their role. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
The application uses cookies or comparable browser storage for sign-in, session security, and product preferences. These are necessary for the service to work, and blocking them may prevent sign-in or other account features from working. We do not ask permission for these, because the service cannot function without them.
Separately, this website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, so that we can improve it. This is our own measurement of mayhemseo.com. It is not connected to any Google Analytics property you connect to MayhemSEO, and it does not use your connected Google data.
Website analytics only runs if you agree to it. We ask before any analytics cookie is set, nothing is loaded until you say yes, and declining does not limit anything on this website. You can change your answer at any time by selecting “Cookie choices” at the bottom of any page. Your answer is stored in your own browser, so clearing your browser data asks you again. We do not use this website's analytics for advertising or ad personalisation.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain account, website and imported provider information while it is needed to operate your account and provide the reports and history you request. Disconnecting a provider does not automatically erase previously imported reports. You can contact our privacy address to request deletion of those reports or other personal information.
The Privacy & sign-ins area lets you review account information, export supported account data, manage sessions, and request account deletion. Deleting your account removes or anonymizes information associated with it. Where a workspace has other members, shared workspace records may remain and your identifying information is removed or anonymized as appropriate. Ownership transfer, an active subscription, or outstanding billing can require additional steps before automated account deletion completes; contact us to make a separate privacy request if needed.
We may retain records needed for legal obligations, billing, security, or resolving disputes, and records that have been anonymized. Backup copies are removed through the backup rotation process rather than immediate individual deletion. Contact our privacy address for the applicable retention details or a request concerning a particular record.
9. Disconnecting Google and withdrawing access
Disconnect a Google service in the website's connection settings to remove the stored credential for that connection and stop future synchronization through it. Its historical reports and connection metadata remain until separately deleted.
Search Console and Analytics can share one Google authorization. Disconnecting one inside MayhemSEO does not revoke the other. To revoke MayhemSEO's Google authorization altogether, remove its access in your Google Account's third-party connections settings. This can stop all Google connections that use the same grant. Revocation does not by itself delete reports already stored in MayhemSEO; send a deletion request to our privacy contact.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, object to certain uses, or withdraw consent. Contact our privacy address to exercise a right or raise a concern. We will handle requests under applicable law and explain any limits that apply.
You can choose not to connect Google or another provider. Features that depend on that provider's information will then be unavailable. Withdrawing access does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
11. Age requirements and policy updates
MayhemSEO is intended for users aged 16 or older and is not directed to children under 16. Contact us if you believe a child under 16 has supplied personal information.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date identifies the current version. We will provide notice and obtain consent where required before using Google data for a new purpose or accessing additional types of Google data.
