How scoring works

Know exactly where every number comes from.

See which pages were checked, what we found, and how we calculated your score. Understand what the result can and cannot tell you.

  1. 01

    Collected

The page check found a missing title

  2. 02

    Interpreted

A saved check flags the missing title as a problem

  3. 03

    Prioritized

The affected pages and available data help set the suggested order

See what each part of the report means
Health
Summarizes the page results using a named set of scoring rules.
Coverage
Shows how much was checked. Missing data does not mean a page passed.
Priority
Suggests which fix to review first based on available data. It does not predict rankings or sales.

Check the scoring rules and pages included before comparing scores from different website checks.

What gets in the way

The problem

SEO tools lose credibility the moment a score moves and nobody can say why.

How MayhemSEO helps

What you get

A clear explanation of your results that you can review and share.

How it works

A clear path from question to next step.

See what to expect, what you can learn, and how to use the results for your website.

01

Evidence

See the information behind each result.

We save the page results, titles, links, and data from connected services. Each finding points back to the information used to produce it.

  • Where the data came from and when it was collected
  • The page and what we found on it
  • Clear labels for measurements, calculations, and missing data
02

Scoring

Understand what your report tells you.

Your health score summarizes the pages checked. Each category explains how much of its scoring system applied to your pages and whether problems were found. Severity tells you how serious a problem is. Priority suggests which fix to review first.

  • Which set of scoring rules was used
  • What each score category means and how much of its scoring system applied
  • Reasons for the suggested repair order
03

Comparison

Know when two results are fair to compare.

A score may change because different pages or scoring rules were used. We check for those differences and tell you when they limit a comparison.

  • Checks for different scan settings
  • Warnings about incomplete results
  • No claims that a repair caused results without proof

Trust is part of the product

What to know before you start.

See what you need, what the results can tell you, and where more information is needed. Measurements and estimates stay clearly labeled, and website changes need your approval.

  1. 01

We do not have access to Google's private ranking system. We use your website results and connected Google data.

  2. 02

Scores and repair lists help you choose what to do. They do not guarantee more visitors or sales.

  3. 03

Changes to scoring rules are recorded so you can understand older results.

Does the score cover my whole website?+

Your score describes the pages checked, which may be only part of your website. Review the page count and any limits before drawing conclusions about the whole site. The 'Checks that apply' percentage in each category is a separate measure; it does not tell you how much of your website was checked.

Can a scoring model change?+

Yes. A version number identifies each set of scoring rules. This helps you tell whether the website changed or the score was calculated differently.

Does the platform know Google's ranking algorithm?+

No. We check the pages we can access and the Google Search Console data you choose to connect.
