Visitors & website activity

Understand what happens after someone finds you.

Connect Google Analytics to see where visitors come from and which actions they take, such as submitting a form or making a purchase.

Connect Analytics to see visitors

Fictional sample · no customer data
  1. Google Analytics 4

    Your permission needed

Choose your property, then load its visitor results

  2. Visits and first pages viewed

    No data

This example has no Analytics results

  3. Choose visitor actions as goals

    Requires setup

Needs an available Analytics connection, your permission, and loaded data

Read the Analytics setup requirements
Availability
You can connect Analytics from your workspace. MayhemSEO reads reports only; it does not change your Analytics settings.
Property
Choose your website in Google Analytics. Google calls this a property.
What results mean
A recorded action, a confirmed sale, and an estimate are different results.

This example does not connect Analytics. Choosing an action as a goal does not prove it was a useful enquiry or sale, or that search improvements caused it.

What gets in the way

The problem

Search clicks, website visits, and business results answer different questions. Looking at them in separate places makes it easy to miss the context.

How MayhemSEO helps

What you get

Visits and recorded visitor actions alongside your website report, with estimates clearly labeled.

How it works

A clear path from question to next step.

See what to expect, what you can learn, and how to use the results for your website.

01

Step 1

Connect your website in Google Analytics

Allow read-only access to Google Analytics and select your website. In Google, this is called a property. Check which dates have loaded.

  • Your chosen website
  • Visible connection status
  • Dates successfully loaded
02

Step 2

Choose the actions that matter

Choose which recorded actions, called key events in Google Analytics, represent enquiries, purchases, or other goals. Check what each event actually records before treating it as a business result.

  • Where visitors come from and the first pages they visit
  • Actions already recorded in Analytics
  • Goals you choose and review
03

Step 3

Put outcomes in context

Review recorded actions and any optional estimates. Keep actual results separate from what might happen.

  • Source labels on data
  • The assumptions behind estimates
  • Limits on linking a result to a source

Trust is part of the product

What to know before you start.

See what you need, what the results can tell you, and where more information is needed. Measurements and estimates stay clearly labeled, and website changes need your approval.

See how scoring works →
  1. 01

Connecting Analytics requires read-only access to your website's Analytics property and a completed data update.

  2. 02

Marking an action as a goal does not prove it was a useful enquiry, a completed sale, or a result of search improvements.

  3. 03

Business estimates explore possible results. They do not promise sales.

Contact support →
Is Analytics the same as Search Console?+

Search Console shows how people find you in Google Search. Analytics describes visits and recorded actions on your website. You can connect each separately.

Do I need Analytics to check my website?+

No. Start with a website check. You can connect Analytics later for visitor and activity data.

Does this prove a repair generated revenue?+

No. A recorded purchase does not by itself prove that a website fix caused it. The results explain what was recorded and what is only estimated.
